Luna and Light Legacy Conversations came from a feeling I couldn’t quite shake — the quiet knowing that one day, we’ll wish we’d asked more questions.

In my own family, we were lucky. My grandad lived to an old age, and towards the end of his life he shared so many of his stories with us. Stories from his childhood, his work, the people he loved, the things that mattered to him. Those conversations are precious, and I hold them close.

But even now, I find myself wishing we could still hear them. His voice. The way he told a story in his own time, in his own words. The way he would call me Stephy, a nickname only used by him.

That feeling stayed with me — and it’s one I’ve seen echoed in so many families.

The Moment People Wish They’d Had

Since becoming a celebrant, I’ve watched families struggle when they’re asked to reflect on a loved one’s life, especially when planning a ceremony. They want to honour them properly, but they’re doing it while grieving. And so often, the same thoughts come up:

“I wish I’d asked more questions. ”“I wish we’d written things down.” “I wish I could still hear their voice.”

It’s not that the love wasn’t there. It’s that life gets busy. Conversations get postponed. And we don’t always realise how much we’ll want those moments back.

Luna and Light Legacy conversations exists to gently create space for those moments — before they feel urgent.

What This Service Actually Is

At its heart, Luna and Light is about sitting down and talking.

These are relaxed, guided conversations where someone can share their story in a way that feels natural and unforced. There’s no script to perform, no pressure to “get it right.” Just time, space, and thoughtful prompts that help memories surface.

Up to two family members or close friends can be part of the conversation. For many families, this becomes one of the most meaningful parts — a chance to reminisce, laugh, and reconnect while the stories unfold.

From these sessions, families receive recorded memories and the option of adding written stories that can be revisited, shared, or kept safely for the future.

Why This Matters to Families

For some, this is about connection in the present — hearing stories again, learning new ones, spending quality time together.

For others, it’s about comfort later.

Families often say how invaluable it would have been to:

  • Hear a loved one’s laugh again

  • Listen to them tell a favourite story

  • Have the opportunity to hear them Share their own words during a ceremony

  • Sit privately and listen when they’re not ready to share with others

Having these stories already captured can also ease the emotional pressure that comes with loss. When families are grieving, making decisions about what to say and how to honour someone can feel overwhelming. Knowing that words, memories, or even short audio clips already exist can bring real comfort.

It’s a way of taking some of that pressure off the people you love — and that matters.

Not About Endings

This service isn’t about focusing on the end of life. It’s about honouring life as it’s being lived. It’s about recognising that stories matter — and that hearing them in someone’s own voice is something truly special.

If you’ve ever thought, “I must ask them about that one day,” this is your gentle nudge that one day can be now.

A Few Common Questions

Who is this for? Anyone who wants to capture their story or the story of someone they love. Many families choose this for parents, grandparents, or loved ones who enjoy reflecting and sharing memories.

Is this formal or structured? Not at all. These are relaxed, guided conversations — more like sitting down for a meaningful chat than an interview.

Can family members be involved? Yes. Up to two family members or close friends can take part, which many families find incredibly special.

How are the stories used? Stories can be kept privately, shared with family, or — if wished — used as part of a memorial or celebration of life ceremony.

Why do this now? Because voices change, memories fade, and time moves quickly. Capturing stories while you can offers comfort now and reassurance later.

How much will it cost? The recorded and edited conversation will be sent to you digitally. I will also prepare you and ensure everyone is comfortable and looking forward to the recording. This will cost £250 with a deposit of £50 taken when the appointment is confirmed.

What about the option of having it in writing? You will also have the opportunity to purchase a written life story book which I will edit and print for an additional £100 and £50 per extra copy. This is completely optional there will be no pressure at all.

A Gentle Invitation

There’s no perfect moment to start — just a willingness to pause and listen.

If this feels like something you or your family would value, I’d love to talk with you about it. No pressure, no urgency — just a conversation about what matters to you.

Your story is already being held. Luna and Light Legacy conversations simply helps you and your loved ones keep it.
